This tour offers a two-hour stop at the Cliffs of Moher, where you can experience their incredible rough beauty, as well as amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Two hours is just the right amount of time for a nice stroll along the cliffs while also taking some pictures. As a reference point, I did the walk highlighted in yellow in about one and a half hours, but I did hurry up on the last bit.

Just a heads up that some of the wired fences around the cliffs had signs warning people that they’re electrified (locals wouldn’t want their cattle or sheep to fall off the cliffs) so you know.. try not to touch the wire:).

Also, please be careful when admiring the view or taking photos in areas where there’s no fence between you and the edge of the cliffs.

Even though tickets to the Visitors Centre are included with the tour, I actually recommend you to just skip it: the true beauty is outside.

Next, you’ll make a quick stop to admire the “lunar” landscape of Burren, before continuing to the charming city of Galway, where you will have two hours to explore the city’s rich history both on a guided walking tour, as well as on your own.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that you can enjoy free wifi on the bus, so you won’t have to worry about how to spend your time during the long drive, apart from listening to your guide of course.

This tour includes a 1.5h stop at the cliffs and initially, I didn’t realize that the iconic view of the Moher Cliffs is actually from the left side (if you take the parking lot as a reference point), so I spent more time on the right side.

As a result, I had to rush a bit towards the end of my walk to catch the views from the left side and also make it back to the coach on time. This made me wish I had an additional 30 minutes to spend at the cliffs.

Ironically enough I ended up spending them on the bus since a group didn’t understand the departure time correctly and it took a while for the guide to get a hold of them.

So when going on a tour, make sure you understand at what time and from where the coach is going to leave (usually the guide will also write it on a piece of paper and display it on the windshield of the bus).

Otherwise, you might end up in an awkward situation: you’ll either have the whole coach annoyed at you and the tour cut short for everyone or you might even be left there if you are too late. This is because tours run on a pretty tight schedule.

In my case, the guide had us vote whether we wanted to skip Kilmacduagh Abbey or cut short our stop in Galway and we ended up going with the first choice.

I was kind of okay with it, but some people were not really happy with having to skip one of the attractions on the tour and it’s totally understandable. So please, don’t be that person that keeps the bus waiting.

Aside from Kilmacduagh Abbey, which I personally didn’t end up visiting, this tour also includes a short stop to admire the lunar-like landscape in Burren, followed by a visit to Galway.

From what I remember, we spent about 1 hour and 30 minutes in the city, but I would point out that it may have been more time than initially stated because we didn’t see the Abbey.

In walking around a bit around Galway, I decided to take up the recommendation of the tour guide and order a Baby Guinness, which contrary to the name doesn’t actually contain any beer, but it’s 3 parts coffee liqueur, 1 part Irish cream.

The name fits though, as it looks like a miniature Guinness beer.

I think some people also ate lunch in the city, but I was afraid we wouldn’t get our order in time so I and my fiance just ordered some beer and Baby Guinness shots.

Besides, we weren’t really hungry as we had already eaten some sandwiches at Cliffs of Moher, which we bought at the first stop of the bus, at Obama Plaza.

It’s worth mentioning that most tours start with a short stop to buy some snacks and drinks for the road since they start so early in the morning. It was the same for our Northern Ireland day trip.

If you’re looking for an affordable way to explore the Cliffs of Moher and Bunratty Castle, but you’re not a fan of traveling together with a big group, then this tour could be a great choice.

However, notice that I said, “could”. This is because, despite the fact that the tour is listed as having a maximum of 25 participants with traveling being done in a van, there were a few separate instances when the group was larger than this and a bus was used instead.

And this kinda defeats the purpose of booking a small tour. That’s why I felt the need to mention it, even if it’s happening only from time to time.

So if the number of participants is important to you, my advice is to confirm with the company the group size and the transportation being used before booking.

Or go during the off-season, since personally, I believe that there are higher chances for something like this to happen during the high season when there’s more demand.

This being said, the tour includes a 2-hour visit to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, where you can step back in time and experience Ireland’s rich history as well as a short stop in the unique Burren region, where you can take in the unique landscape and snap some photos.
